Watch the new trailer for 'The Punisher,' coming to Netflix Nov. 17

'The Punisher' Reveals Premiere Date in Gripping New Trailer

We here at Comicbook.com (like many fans) thought that Marvel would debut The Punisher \/em in a surprise premiere during New York Comic Con; however, the bad tragedy of the Las Vegas shooting changed all that. As reported here previously at CarterMatt, the original expectation was for the Netflix series to launch as a surprise one weekend around the time of New York Comic-Con.

A spinoff of Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's The Punisher centers on Frank Castle, (Jon Bernthal). By moving the premiere to November, the series shares a release date with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's "Justice League".

All along we projected a November release date so there's no surprise that it's coming out then, but we did forecast a Nov. 10 release to coincide with the Veteran's Day holiday since Frank Castle is a marine and all. It turns out that those who hurt his family are part of a much larger conspiracy that runs deeper than New York City's criminal underworld. The show's social media accounts revealed the date at the end of a trailer that was released Thursday.

The clip illustrated what Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, was capable of, why he was out for revenge and where the series would take place. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone. "You have nothing but a war inside you", Castle is told at one point in the trailer. In this series, we will see Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role of Karen Page.
