3 minors killed several injured as Pakistan violates ceasefire

The boy was identified as Israr Ahmad.

A 10-year-old boy was killed and five other civilians wounded Monday in skirmishes between troops of India and Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir, Indian police said. A search operation for the suspected militants is underway, reports added. The exchange of fire between the two resulted in the death of two innocent civilians while five others were injured.

Pakistani troops started unprovoked firing and shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Also, security forces foiled infiltration bid in Keran sector and the two sides traded heavy fire.

In the past few months, Pakistan has violated ceasefire multiple times.

Defence Ministry sources said that the Indian military has been retaliating strongly and effectively. One of the infiltrators has been killed.

Last week, the Pakistani Army had violated ceasefire Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Bhimber Gali sectors.
