Trailer Park Boys Star John Dunsworth Has Died Aged 71

"With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our unbelievable husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away", daughter Sarah Dunsworth said.

Many know Dunsworth for his role as a former police officer-turned-trailer park supervisor in "Trailer Park Boys".

John Dunsworth from The Trailer Park Boys' Randy and Mr. Lahey at the Machine Shop in Sault Ste. It was his daughter Sarah who took to social media today to announce the sad news.

"With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our unbelievable husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away", his daughter Sarah Dunsworth said in a statement to CBC News.

The statement further said that the veteran actor left very peacefully after having fought a short battle with an unexpected illness.The family further requested people to respect their privacy at this time of grief.

Jonathan Torrens, who played J-Roc on the series, said on Twitter that "Dunsworth was all our father on set yet the biggest kid at heart" and that he was "curious, mischievous and spirited".

"We're in shock and heartbroken by the sudden loss of our dear friend John Dunsworth", the Trailer Park Boys team added. "Curious. Mischievous. Spirited. I'd often just stop and watch", Jonathan Torrens, who plays J-Roc in the show, wrote.

"His wild passion for acting was matched by his love of life and family".

Dunsworth also had a recurring role as Dave Teagues for several seasons on the SyFy and Showcase series "Haven".
