No precipitation is in the seven-day forecast for the Topeka area from the National Weather Service, as highs this week will be a bit cooler. Low: 51. Wind: NW/SW 5 miles per hour.

Wednesday night: 20 percent chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. South southwest wind 8 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.

Rain starts this afternoon and some spots could see a good rain soaking into Monday.

THU/FRI: Partly cloudy Thursday with a high around 70. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. "A half inch to 1" of rain is possible east of I-75. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s.

Wednesday will be partly sunny with highs in the mid-60s. South wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of rain is 20 percent.

Monday Night: Isolated showers between 9 pm and 11 pm.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy - low around 33. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Mostly clear and cool.

Highs will be in the low 80s until Wednesday, where they will reach the mid-70s as dry, cool air comes to the area. The sunnier skies return Thursday afternoon, and once they do, they stay through Saturday.
