Patriots' Tom Brady battling shoulder injury, report says

Patriots' Tom Brady reportedly suffers AC joint sprain, not expected to miss time

"I'm good", the Patriots' quarterback said when asked if the reported AC joint sprain in his left shoulder would hinder him in the future.

By video review, the second time Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers sacked Brady on October 1 could have caused a mild AC sprain on the left side. The Jets have registered just seven sacks this season, the second worst mark in the NFL. Brady insists he's not concerned about his shoulder and will be ready for Week 6's divisional showdown with the New York Jets, via NFL.com.

"I'll be there Sunday", Brady said.

And yet, despite the injury and the inferior protection, Brady is still performing at an elite level.

Brady credited the score and game situations for the frequency New England has been in passing situations this year.

"This guy's like Father Time", defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers said. He was sacked only 15 times in all of 2016 (over a 12-game regular-season, having been suspended for the first four games), and has been hit a total of 32 times in the first five games of this season, including 16 sacks.

"We're definitely not happy about it. We all want to do a better job, we all want to play better". "We've been in some competitive games, and we're going keep fighting".

Williams and the rest of his defensive teammates understand the stakes if they allow New England to establish the run early.

After the hit in Tampa, Brady stayed down for a bit, wincing in pain.

For fantasy football owners of players on the Patriots, this is certainly good news. Their 3.9 yards per attempt rank 22nd in the league.

Tackle Nate Solder, who missed Wednesday's practice for a non-injury reasons, was back on the practice field Thursday. They can't sack you if you're handing the ball off.
