No, Priscilla Presley didn't leave the Church of Scientology

The actress has not quit the Church of Scientology, her rep told People, refuting rumors that circulated over the weekend. Lisa Marie Presley left the church in 2014, which apparently made remaining with the church a hard task for her mother.

The whole thing is very odd but Presley herself - who is believed to have joined the controversial church after Elvis's death - has yet to personally comment publicly.

Priscilla Presley's rep denied reports that the actress has left the Church of Scientology.

Her daughter Lisa Marie defected from the church in 2014, which "made it hard for Priscilla".

The church has denied all those claims, saying in a recent statement to PEOPLE of Remini, "Her whole anti-Scientology shtick was scripted and choreographed by her, casting herself in her drama as the "victim" so she could cash in on her false narrative while savaging her friends and those who helped her most of her life". A source claimed to the Mail that Presley's decision was inspired by daughter Lisa Marie Presley's own long-rumored exit from Scientology.

Lisa Marie cryptically told USA Today in 2012 she "was slowly starting to self-destruct" and "devastated" amid issues with her inner circle. The church is said to ban all members from speaking to those who have left, labelling them a "suppressive person". I was insulated with no grip on reality. they were taking my soul, my money, my everything'.

Prodigal son: Perennial A-lister Tom Cruise is among the church's most high-profile members.

Actress Leah Remini became an unofficial spokesperson for those abused members of the church.

The "King of Queens" alum has been an outspoken critic of the Church, detailing her experiences in it in her docuseries "Scientology and the Aftermath".

A spokesman for Priscilla Presley declined to comment to The Mail on Sunday.
