Nigerian national brutally thrashed for alleged theft in Delhi

What's wrong with Delhi? Nigerian brutally assaulted in public no one helped

Unhinged by the emotional appeal of the helpless man, mob continued slapping and hitting him with sticks while asking where he had hidden the money.

A Nigerian national was tied to a pole and brutally beaten up by locals for alleged theft in Delhi's Malviya Nagar.

The Nigerian man was accused of theft by locals in the area who sought to thrashing him before the police reached the spot, according to CNN-News18 news channel.

He was barely conscious and severely wounded when the mob handed-over the man to the police.

One man holds his feet and aims hard on the sole with a stick.

NDTV reports that the victim was allegedly caught inside the home of Krishna Kumar and Kumar's neighbours claimed that he fell while trying to escape.

After the video surfaced, the police said action would be taken against the attackers.

This is not the first instance of racially-motivated attacks against African nationals in the National Capital Region.

Earlier this year, after attacks targeting Africans in Delhi and nearby, envoys described the attacks as "xenophobic and racial". Five people were arrested for the attacks.
