New overview trailer for Super Mario Odyssey

Mario, Cappy and the game are scheduled to visit the following locations, which are all open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. But ultimately, 21-year-old Thomas Gonda was the first to throw his hat on a giant stone fist and punch the boss to become the new Nintendo World Champion. In the VIP balcony, I could peer down on the hyped up Nintendo fans waving their red towels around cheering for favorites like returning champ John Numbers, celebrity ringers like WWE's Bayley, and the adorable kids who qualified from the 12 and under rounds giving interviews with their parents.

We're not sure if this is the extent of multiplayer, but it seems a second player can join in Super Mario Odyssey and play exclusively as Cappy.

Nintendo's social media marketer needs a pat on the back for that pun. Chief among these powers is the ability to "capture" enemies by tossing Cappy on them and thereby possessing them.

Also, don't forget to follow Next Big Game on Facebook to keep up with all the latest episodes as they are released.

"We thought about how a lives system would work in this kind of broad, exploration-focused game". Odyssey doesn't feature any other sort of multiplayer features, so this is the best you're going to get if that's something you were looking for.

In the trailer, Mario can be seen wearing a construction worker outfit and an explorer ensemble, aside from his classic blue overalls with a red shirt. Judging from the trailer, there will be a lot of creative ways to use them.

In addition to all of these activities, Nintendo will also host game tournaments that will be live-streamed from the E3 show floor. Not only will Cappy be able to advise us through the game, but it'll be incredibly useful.

The 2017 Nintendo World Championships hosted by Nintendo in NY concluded on Saturday.

Super Mario Odyssey will finally arrive on Nintendo Switch at the end of the month.
