Nationals' TV analyst Ray Knight arrested for assault, battery in Va.

Ray Knight

Police responded to the residence in Fairfax County, Virginia, around 4 a.m. for a reported fight, police said.

MASN television analyst Ray Knight was charged with assault band battery after an incident at his home on Sunday, Fairfax County police say.

Knight was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries before being taken to a detention center.

Emergency crews transported the acquaintance to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Knight said he was asleep but awoke and got into a verbal argument with the man that quickly escalated to blows.

Even if the charges against Knight are eventually dropped, this isn't the best look for either MASN or the Nationals. He was released on bond, and is set to appear in court in January. Knight said the altercation was the first time he had been arrested. "I hope it gets worked out in a fair and equitable way". He spent 13 years in the majors, winning a World Series as a member of the New York Mets in 1986.

Former World Series MVP and current Washington Nationals broadcaster Ray Knight was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery early Sunday morning, according to police in suburban Washington D.C.
