The collation of these major Hollywood Studios means there's over 7,000 available to be added to your locker, with Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes and Vudu (A Walmart company) all set up to let you redeem the titles. Movies Anywhere syncs users' libraries across their connected accounts, so consumers can watch their purchased and redeemed digital movies on an array of platforms including Amazon Fire devices; Android devices and Android TV; Apple TV; Chromecast; iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; Rokudevices and popular browsers, with more platforms and retailers to come.

Only eligible films will be available in the app, such as anything from Disney's own catalog, which also includes everything from Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm, plus movies from four more studios.

The Movies Anywhere service was developed by Walt Disney Co to provide a single app and website where customers can find movies they have purchased from a variety of retailers.

It's official. "Movies Anywhere" is launching in the USA with movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment; Twentieth Century Fox Film; Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.

"Movies Anywhere is a massive step forward for the consumer digital media experience, bringing the incredible film libraries of five studios together in a virtual one-stop movie-watching shop", said Karin Gilford, General Manager, Movies Anywhere. Now, you'll only ever need to use one app again.

Movies Anywhere will roll out first in the United States but will presumably make it to further nations in future.

Movies Anywhere will allow consumers to buy movies and then store them in a "digital locker" which they can access from supported devices. Anyone who links two or more Google Play accounts to Movies Anywhere will get those films show up in their library.

It is also worth noting that, in an effort to entice people to join the service, you can get up to five free movies simply by signing up: Ghostbusters and Ice Age will be made available once you link to a digital retailer, and adding a second retailer unlocks Big Hero 6, Jason Bourne and The Lego Movie.
