Kingpin is officially back for season 3 of Daredevil

Daredevil Spoilers Season 3 Wilson Fisk

"Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk". Marvel has officially announced that he'll be back as Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil season 3, which is fantastic news.

Details on season three of Marvel's Daredevil are still scarce. Indeed, once Marvel debunked those reports that initially linked Vincent D'Onofrio with an appearance in The Defenders, where he arguably would have stolen the thunder from Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra, Netflix subscribers quickly came to the conclusion that Kingpin was being held until Daredevil's third season. The closing moments from The Defenders hinted that Daredevil season 3 may adapt the acclaimed "Born Again" storyline by Frank Miller, and David Mazzucchelli.

Fisk will again be portrayed by Vincent D'Onofrio, who gave a mesmerizing performance in the first season of the comic-book-inspired hit-a slow burn punctuated by startling bursts of violence and rage.

Daredevil's battle with Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin is not over. Regardless of what happens, there's no doubt he'll have a significant role in season 3. In the story, Wilson Fisk destroys Matt Murdock's professional and personal life.

The third season of Marvel's Daredevil is Executive Produced by series showrunner Erik Oleson and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), along with Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Steven S. DeKnight supervised Daredevil's inaugural year, while Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez took over in season 2 before moving onto The Defenders. Changing of showrunners isn't something new to Daredevil. Oleson has the superhero series cred too, spending time as a co-executive producer on the CW's Arrow, and recently working as an executive producer and writer on Amazon's The Man in the High Castle. The release date is still TBD, but Netflix has Season 3 slated for 2018.
