Iwobi In Action, Success Out As Watford Stun Arsenal

Arsene Wenger Arsenal

The Hornets moved into the Premier League top four with a 2-1 win over Arsene Wenger's side, with former Manchester United man Cleverley pouncing in stoppage time.

Troy Deeney came off the substitute's bench to equalise from the spot for Watford after Hector Bellerin was penalised for a foul on Richarlison.

He told the club's official website: "I'm not sure, I can not tell [if it was a penalty]".

Arsenal looked in relative control of things at Vicarage Road as they led Watford 1-0 thanks to a rare goal from Per Mertesacker.

Substitute Troy Deeney equalised from the spot after Richarlison was fouled by Hector Bellerin and that gave the home side the momentum to win the game and they did just that thanks to Tom Cleverley's injury time victor. The outcome of the game was changed because of an incorrect penalty decision.

"After that we were punished by a bad refereeing decision".

But this might just top the lot - Granit Xhaka was caught picking his nose while Tom Cleverley scored Watford's victor against Arsenal. At the end of the day they scored.

"I've heard Wenger's already blaming that the penalty as the reason they lost", Deeney told BT Sport.

The problem, Deeney thinks, is that Arsenal don't fancy it when the going gets tough.

"I believe we had many, many unsafe situations where we could have scored and we didn't and we panicked a bit at the end". I didn't even have to jump, actually - I nodded it down.

"I think that's what we lacked, especially in the second half".
