ISIS use chilling Messi poster to threaten 2018 World Cup

Daesh terrorists threaten to attack Russia 2018 World Cup with bloody Messi picture

In the poster, Messi is portrayed as a criminal and crying blood from behind bars.

Mumbai: A doctored image of Argentina and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi, where he is seen crying blood, has been released by a propaganda cell of terror group ISIS in a fresh threat to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

The terrorist organisation posted the artwork via known ISIS mouthpiece Wafa Media Foundation, in the hope to discourage and unsettle those attending the celebration of world football next year.

Then there are other posters which show Russia's World Cup logo exploding along with menacing threatening phrases like, "We are the one who chooses the battlefield", and, "I swear that the mujahideen's fire will burn you, just you wait".

The chilling poster also used Nike's famous tagline, "Just Do It" and turned it into "Just Terrorism".

The terror group had also threatened to disrupt the 2016 European Championships as well as the 2017 Women's European Championships. The message was an image showing the Russian Federation 2018 logo hijacked by a gun-wielding ISIS fighter while a lighted bomb also features in the picture.

Three pictures showed the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and Volgograd Arena stadium in the background - both are venues for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This chilling message to football fans across the world was released by the Islamic State ahead of the World Cup. This is not the only image released in a shocking campaign by the ISIS-affiliated group.

St Petersburg, Russia's second largest city, was the scene of a horrific ISIS attack when a briefcase bomb detonated on the underground in April, killing 14 people.
