Incredible backspin sees penalty 'miss' become a goal in epic shootout

The penalty shoot-out between Bangkok Sports Club and Satri Angthong was decided by a very bizarre spot-kick

Check out this wild video from the Thailand Cup where Bangkok Sports Club and Satri Angthong were playing.

After the score was tied at 2-2 at full-time the game went to penalties. You can't make this stuff up.

Indeed the tally was 19-19 when Bangkok's goalie took his turn kicking a penalty shot, the outlet said - and it hit the crossbar and shot toward the sky.

The keeper, who had dived full-length to his left, notices his stroke of good fortune and tears up the pitch to celebrate with his teammates.

However, the ball had incredible backspin after bouncing off of the cross bar and the unthinkable happened.

"But the ball bounced back into the goal as the Satri keeper was celebrating in joy".

"Both teams scored their penalties". Then it looked like the other team had lost because they missed.

"Everybody thought it was over and the crowd was cheering", he told local media.

And when it hit the turf - approximately seven yards in front of the net - it took a backwards hop and then slowly but surely began heading towards the now abandoned goal.

Satri Angthong then missed their next shot to send Bangkok Sports through to the final to be played later next month.

"The crowd saw it but the goalkeeper didn't".

He scrambled back as the ball crossed the goal line, sending him to his knees in despair. It was amusing, but the goalkeeper felt like a bit silly after.
