Demi Lovato has shared a before-and-after picture documenting her struggle with bulimia nervosa. "Love you too", so it's probably safe to say that any hint of a once long-standing feud between the two is over as Lovato looks forward to her bright future.

He recalls, "We were in NY and she clearly was on something, and she was on air promoting this new way of life, and I was like, "You're so full of it".

"I wasn't working my [recovery] programme", Demi says of her relapse. "I've learned that love is necessary".

She revealed that her father was also addicted to drugs and alcohol.

She said she's still not sure if that was best for them.

The singer ultimately made the resolution to get sober for good after her entire team staged an intervention and laid down an ultimatum - If she didn't get clean, they would all quit. Indeed - she's spent more time recently speaking out about body image positivity, and this year celebrated five years of sobriety.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have had a complicated friendship over the years, but one thing they have never stopped doing is supporting each other.

"There's like a certain stigma around a woman having casual sex", Lovato explained later in the doc. She talks at length about how she's felt discouraged from being open about her sexuality, but she's proud to be a sexual person and isn't going to be ashamed of it.

Demi ends the documentary by talking about her connection with her fans and saying it's the most important part of her career. It's just constant. Like I get envious toward people that don't struggle with an eating disorder just because I feel like my life would be so much easier'.

She said: "I think that's what makes me a role model for people is that I'm not flawless".

In a follow-up comment, Sel added, "Love you". While we know recovery is more than skin deep, Demi's before and after post is a physical representation of how far she's come and her documentary shows that she's in a happier place - we can't wait to see what she does next.
