Xiaomi Mi A1 visits Geekbench, to sport bezel-less screen

Xiaomi Mi MIX

Xiaomi could unveil its first Android One phone in India next week. With a little over a week to go before the official event, a new image has surfaced online, showing off what looks to be the front glass from the handset. Past teasers have pointed to a "flagship dual camera" smartphone, and the most recent such offering from the company was the Xiaomi Mi 5X, making it the prime candidate for launch. While we were expecting Xiaomi Mi 5x, the company has not given us a hint about something else. And the Geekbench listing suggests the same. The Mi A1 achieved a single-core score of 852 and a multi-core score of 3837.

A premium borderless display and pure Android running through its veins would make the Mi A1 an attractive option among consumers eager to climb on board the hottest trend of 2017 while also getting software updates direct from Google. Also, the model spotted here is a 4GB RAM variant. Hopefully, the scores can be improved over time with better optimisation since the smartphone has competent hardware specifications. There could be a possibility that the phone could support 3D mapping features, if Xiaomi is adventurous enough to take on the new realm of AR-based capturing like Sony has. For a phone that is going to challenge the best of the best, Xiaomi seems to be bringing their A-game to the fore. The company has already teased the device with dual camera setup.

Android One was an initiative to bring low-priced but good devices for consumers. In actual, the Mi 5X lost its sheen due to Xiaomi's plan of introducing the new series.

The price of the phone has not been confirmed but rumors say it will probably increase for the second generation smartphone.
