North Korea said on Friday it might test a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to destroy the reclusive country, with leader Kim Jong Un promising to make a "mentally deranged" Trump pay dearly for his comments.

North Korea's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, now in NY for a United Nations meeting, warned on Thursday that Kim could consider a hydrogen bomb test of an unprecedented scale over the Pacific.

China on Saturday announced that it would restrict oil exports to North Korea from October 1 and also suspend textile imports from Pyongyang.

Until now, the North has not tested its missiles and nuclear weapons together, opting instead to fire them separately - the missiles above ground and the nuclear weapons below. "It has to strongly and sternly respond until North Korea gives up its nuclear program of its own accord".

"We urge the DPRK not to go further along a risky direction", Wang said, referring to North Korea by the acronym of its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. North Korea has one nuclear test site - Punggye-ri.

Because of that many experts don't think North Korea would take such a risk.

South Korea's weather agency said its analysis had determined that the quake's origin was probably "natural", the Yonhap News Agency reported. And he said "we should do so again".

"What we're really doing is playing a game of whack-a-mole with North Korea", Snyder said.

Tillerson spoke Thursday at a ministerial meeting of the U.N. Security Council called by the United States on "the acute threat" posed by the proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.

Kono voiced hope for smoother relations with China, which has a range of disputes with Japan, including over territory and wartime history.

"The most important role the United Nations is asked to play today is to come up with fundamental measures to stop the vicious cycle of increased provocations and heightened sanctions", Moon said in the address, according to an English version of his speech later released by his presidential office Cheong Wa Dae.

"It seems like a vague reality to me", said Kim Hye-ji, a 27-year-old graphic designer.

A ban on textile imports from the North will go into effect immediately, the statement said.

North Korea has launched dozens of missiles this year, several of them flying over Japan, as it accelerates a weapons program aimed at enabling it to target the United States with a nuclear-tipped missile.
