The Coalition defers questions pertaining to captured ISIS fighters to their relative nations' Departments of State or equivalent agencies.

In a video briefing to the Pentagon from Baghdad, Army Col. Ryan Dillon, a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, said, "We have seen the same reports" on an American being held by the SDF.

The Coalition's mission is to defeat ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and we will pursue ISIS fighters regardless of nationality.

Those attacks left the 11 remaining buses of the convoy stranded in the desert for two weeks.

It is estimated that almost 250 American citizens had joined or attempted to join Isis in Iraq and Syria as of 2015.

Syrian regime forces are fighting for Dayr Az Zawr southeast of Raqqa, while SDF continues its offensive north of that city. No coalition forces were hurt, authorities said.

The Hezbollah deal allowed 600 ISIS terrorists and their family members to make their way to one of few areas ISIS retains significant fighting forces and perhaps its last true stronghold.

The captured terrorist is not the only example for USA nationals joining Daesh.

The Observatory maintains a network of activists across Syria and confirmed Thursday that the convoy had reached ISIS controlled areas.

"In general, I don't think we're better off bringing these people to federal court", where they are represented by "court-appointed lawyers" and given "discovery rights to find out our intelligence", Sessions said. "Would he have insight on whether they're sending folks away from Iraq and Syria in a systematic way?"

"At a time when the SDF's courageous forces are scoring great victories against IS in Raqa and Deir Ezzor".

The US military said in a statement that Russian forces struck a target east of the Euphrates River near Deir ez-Zour causing injuries to US-led Coalition partner forces.

The Daily Beast reported Thursday that the American was taken into custody by Kurdish troops operating with the Syrian Democratic Forces in northern Syria and turned over to the American military.
