Among the players sporting the shirts before their game against the New York Jets are wide receiver Kenny Stills, running back Jay Ajayi and offensive linemen Laremy Tunsil and Ja'Wuan James.

The Titans wound up cashing in, kicking a field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Not to be disrespectful to the anthem, (but) to remove ourselves from the circumstance.

Since then, teams, players, and commissioner Roger Goodell have all responded with statements defending players' right to kneel, and on Sunday players and even some owners made their most public defiance of the president yet. "We will not stand for the injustice that has plagued people of color in this country". "Out of love for our country and in honor of the sacrifices made on our behalf, we unite to oppose those that would deny our most basic freedoms". We remain committed in continuing to work toward equality and justice for all.

In the United States, pictures on the National Football League website showed numerous players either standing or kneeling during the anthem, with several team owners standing and linking arms with players. The Seahawks drove 75 yards methodically over nine players. He told team trainers he felt his hamstring getting tight in the second half of the Titans' 37-16 win over Jacksonville. As a team, we are united in a mission to bring people together to help create positive change. "That's the worst thing you can do as a teammate is put your teammate in an uncomfortable position". We know we can play with the big dogs. If you beat them, that puts you in a good spot going through the season. "So as a team, we wanted to do our best to not ostracize our guys, any of our individuals".

The Titans took a similar approach with their statement.

Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is one of the game's best players. The first four drives for each team to begin the game all came up empty and ended with punts. "There is no greater unifier in this country than sports and, unfortunately, nothing more divisive than politics", Kraft's statement said. We're here to play football. "However, we very much respect the rights of other individuals and groups to express themselves as they see fit".

Meghan Linsey performed the National Anthem at Sunday's (Sept. 24) Tennessee Titans vs. Seattle Seahawks game and, at the end of her performance, knelt in solidarity with protesting NFL players.

The Seahawks released a statement on Twitter.

Several Steelers leaders, including defensive end? Tenneseee players immediately got in Sherman's face for the hit, and were also called unsportsmanlike conduct, and the penalties offset each other. Those discussions took hold Saturday as the team traveled to Chicago and got situated at the team hotel. With all that being said, Sherman experienced the lowest of lows in the early going of the Seahawks' game against the Titans on Sunday.

It's certainly possible given what we've seen the past two weeks.
