Thomas Lemar 'happy' to stay after Arsenal move collapses

Liverpool star Naby Keita will play for the Reds next season

The French global has been strongly linked with Arsenal all summer but L'Equipe reported earlier this week that Liverpool had entered the chase for Lemar's signature after tabling a £74m bid.

After being linked heavily with Liverpool and Barcelona the last few days, Lemar is now as short as 9/4 (best price 12/1) to make the move to the Emirates, after being available at 33/1 just last night.

Arsenal saw a £92m offer accepted for the 21-year-old winger on Thursday afternoon as they sought a replacement for the Manchester City-bound Alexis Sanchez.

Jurgen Klopp's side were willing to stretch to €90m for the wideman but their bid still fell short of the €100m demanded by Monaco vice-chairman Vadim Vasilyev.

Les Blues are now 2-0 up in the World Cup qualifier at the Stade de France thanks to the Monaco winger's superb half volley. Now, I'm going to have a good season with my club, try to improve and move forward in my career.

The France global was previously a target for Arsenal earlier this summer but is now the subject of strong interest from Anfield.

And Sky Sports" Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claims that Arsenal have now told City to wait a "few hours' so they can sign Lemar, which they are confident of doing.

"I was focused on my game, that's all that mattered to me".

The Gunners have endured a poor start to the new Premier League season, after having lost two of their opening three games to Stoke City and Liverpool.
