They're Following My Sister Too, Kidnapped Bengaluru Teen Warned In Video

Police recovered the body of Sharath the son of an Income Tax officer in Bengaluru on Friday morning

The victim, Sharath, who was in the second year of a commerce graduate degree programme, had gone missing on September 12 after he was gifted a new motorcycle by his parents.

Police said four people have been arrested but did not reveal their identities or give details.

Sharath, son of IT officer Niranjan Kumar, had left his home on the Ullal Main Road around 6 pm on September 12 to show his new Royal Enfield Classic 350 bike to his friends.

The Gnanabharati police arrested six persons in connection with the crime on Thursday night, including Vicky, Vinay and Vishal. Later they informed the police and a case was registered.

On 15 September, a report in Bangalore Mirror noted that Sharath was kidnapped and the kidnappers had demanded Rs 50 lakh ransom.

On a video shot on a cellphone, the college student pleads, "Hello Appa, I have been kidnapped".

Sharath, a resident of Ullala, was kidnapped ten days ago; the abductors murdered the boy fearing police action. They dumped his body at Rachenahalli lake near Kengeri suburb.

Sharath's body was found buried near the Ramohalli lake on Friday morning.

In the video, taken in a auto, Sharath is seen informing his father that he has been kidnapped by someone 'who suffered at your hands, ' and asking for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh to free him. He warns his family that his kidnappers had weapons and were watching his sister too.
