Rishi Kapoor slams Rahul Gandhi on dynasty comments

Rishi Kapoor and Rahul Gandhi

Rishi Kapoor took his anger out on Twitter posting some harsh tweets addressing the Congress Vice-President and has criticised him for his comments and advised Rahul Gandhi to work towards earning the respect of people instead of forcefully staking his claim.

Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor lashed out at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi over his "dynasty" remark made in a speech at the University of California in Berkeley.

This is not the first time Rishi Kapoor has lost his cool on Gandhi family on social media.

Rishi Kapoor wrote, "Rahul Gandhi". One of them was none other than Rishi Kapoor who himself comes from an influential family which has been contributing to the Hindi film industry since the past 90 years.

Terming the criticism as "unwarranted and unjustified", Congress defended Rahul Gandhi saying that it was the Prime Minister who was guilty of insulting India on worldwide soil. "And each generation is chosen by public on merit (sic)".

He also asked Gandhi not to give "bullsh*t" on dynasty and that he should earn respect and of people through hard work and not "zabardasti" (force) or "gundagardi" (hooliganism).

"By Gods grace we are in 4 generations".

Earlier on Tuesday, responding to a question that there was a perception that the Congress was patronizing dynastic politics, Rahul Gandhi amused the audience saying Akhilesh Yadav, Stalin, Abhishek Bachchan, the children of Ambani etc. are all dynasts. Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor. Randhir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor - Males.

Kapoor had courted controversy previous year too when he suggested that roads and building named by the Congress after the Gandhi family be changed.

BJP was obviously expected to slam Rahul Gandhi's speech, but no one thought that Rishi Kapoor would lose his cool over the speech.

On the acting front, he was last seen in Kapoor & Sons and will next be seen in Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi and 102 Not Out.
