PlayStation introduces the Crystal coloured Dualshock 4 range, with caveats

Sony will release a trio of translucent DualShock 4 controllers for the PlayStation 4 later this month, giving '90s kids fuzzy feelings of nostalgia for an era when seeing the innards of your video game hardware was a regular thing.

Some of you may remember the popular Crystal Dualshock 4 controller from previous year. Well, it will if you live in the right part of the world, anyway.

Those DualShock 4 controllers will come in three colors: Crystal, Blue Crystal and Red Crystal. However, for some reason the color choices are being restricted depending on where you are in the world. The Crystal one is exclusive to GameStop in the region, Red Crystal exclusive to Best Buy, and Blue Crystal exclusive to Walmart. All three models launch in Europe on October 17.

If the United States does get the crystal controller, it won't be the first time. Both colour crystal editions feature the same striking translucent design with an added vibrant colour hue, so you can find a model to suit your style. The MSRP is set at $59.99, but if you shop around the standard black controller can be picked up for $44, while the red and blue variants go for $48.
