Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley turns 34 years old today.

"I've talked to Coach Stoops, who is a friend of mine", Meyer said Tuesday during the Big Ten's weekly coaches call. He was a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati when Riley was born in Lubbock, Texas.

Ohio State will have a top-5 matchup on its hands on Saturday night. But, even so, he made the most of his opportunities during the season opener, much like Dobbins did.

Now a young'un stands in the way of Meyer's quest for a third undefeated season - and second at Ohio State.

Ohio State (1) 3. "It will be a great atmosphere, one our guys are looking forward to going and competing in".

For the Ohio State Buckeyes, they are now ranked 2nd in the latest polls. "I told somebody this morning that I don't think that has much of an effect on it. Regardless of how that game turned out, this is one of those games both teams are excited to play". Cobbs finished with 11 catches for 149 yards and one of Lagow's three touchdown passes, but Ohio State dominated the Hoosiers in the second half (outscored IU 36-7), eventually pulling away for a 49-21 victory.

Riley - the youngest coach in the Football Subdivision at the age of 33 - was welcomed by a near flawless performance by senior quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Compounding the Buckeyes' challenge is Mayfield's mobility.

"They have a solid and next-level offensive line", Ohio State defensive tackle Robert Landers said. Baker Mayfield is quite a large Heisman candidate this season as well. He can beat you with his feet and his arm.

With the Buckeyes having plenty of inexperience in the secondary, the front-seven must be able to get into the opponent's backfield. Mayfield needs to throw for an additional 409 yards to pass Bradford.

Stretching the field and hitting deep passes is a little easier with receivers like Michael Thomas, Devin Smith and Jalin Marshall. Eight players scored touchdowns.

Barrett and the Ohio State offense warmed up after a slow start at Indiana. It will be a familiar group in more ways than one. He was throwing mostly to inexperienced receivers last season and to say that they have improved dramatically this season is an opinion fueled more by hope than evidence so far. I know why he (resigned) - because he thought (Riley) would carry on the same culture that he created.
