Okami HD Is Real, 4K Support Confirmed


Simply titled Okami HD, the port will be releasing in the United Kingdom on 12th December as we reported.

Following a leak fom Famitsu this morning, Capcom reached out with a press release to make the HD remaster of Okami official, aptly titled Okami HD.

Okami HD will support 4K resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro, Windows PC and Xbox One X, Capcom said in an announcement.

[Update] Capcom has officially confirmed Okami HD will be available in Europe and the U.S. on December 12.

Okami is considered to be one of the best games of the PS2 era and has a very passionate fanbase.

The latest release will also include the option to switch to 4:3 aspect ratio, and features the return of the original loading screen mini-games that had been removed from the 2012 PS3 and 2008 Wii versions of Okami.

Okami is an action-adventure game in which the goddess Amaterasu restores life and beauty to a world that has been taken over by malevolent beings through the power of celestial calligraphy techniques. It also supports the idea that Capcom would be paving the way to a direct sequel directed by its original creator Hideki Kamiya, who in the a year ago has confirmed that he has ideas to continue the series. It will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 21 in Japan, and for PC on December 13 for 2,990 yen.
