Neymar left out of PSG squad for the tie against Montpellier

French paper L'Equipe earlier claimed the Paris Saint Germain pair had a dressing room row

The Samba sensation was involved in a bust-up with Edinson Cavani over which of them took a penalty in the 2-0 win over Lyon last weekend.

PSG's general good start to the season didn't stop rivals Marseille having a pop at the Parisians over Twitter about the incident, tweeting an image on Florian Thauvin and Maxime Lopez "arguing" over a penalty.

Cavani missed from 12 yards and L'Equipe reported that the pair had to be separated by team-mates in the changing room after the match. Days later it was claimed by Spanish newspaper Sport that Neymar had demanded his team-mate be sold.

"Edinson Cavani and Neymar found themselves in a calm atmosphere after their altercation on Sunday night against Lyon following of the penalty drama".

The world-record signing has reportedly met up with the Uruguayan and captain Thiago Silva and apologised for his behaviour saying he regretted his attitude towards the centre forward during the game.

The news of the rift being squashed will be welcome news to manager Unai Emery, after fears that problems between Neymar and Cavani would have negatively affected the club on and off the pitch.

He said: "We want to continue on this winning run". I think that's been proven because you can see he is adapting quickly'.

"The players are competitors who want the best for the team and, after that, for themselves".
