New 'Super Mario Odyssey' Details Hit In Nintendo Direct This Week

Super Mario 64 Online presents a new twist on a classic speedrun game

In its announcement today, Nintendo said it will focus on the short-term future of both the Switch and the 3DS.

The Nintendo Direct will kick-off at 3 p.m. PT/ 6 p.m. ET on September 13th, according to the company. We've embedded the page below, for your convenience.

New exclusives coming up along with Super Mario Odyssey include Pokken Tournament DX, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors. Perhaps we'll see even more 3DS titles revealed? All could feature in the Nintendo Direct.

Seeing as the game is out in a few short weeks, this may be the last Direct to bring Mario Odyssey news. Watch the stream live via Twitch or on the official Nintendo website. Surely there should be more information coming for the next Metroid and Pokémon games as well as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, but we shall see!

The number of yearly Direct streams fluctuates from year to year but, generally, they've increased in number since 2011.
