National Anthem Singer at Atlanta Falcons-Detroit Lions Game Takes Knee

Many other Lions players interlocked arms in protest of President Donald Trump's comments that National Football League players should be fired by their owners if they don't stand up for the anthem.

The Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions meet up at Ford Field in the Motor City in a battle of two undefeated teams on Sunday. They were Grady Jarrett and Dontari Poe. With both teams coming into the game undefeated, the victor will ultimately earn the extremely important playoff tie-breaker over the other, and they could definitely use it.

The Falcons were in Detroit to face the Lions, who also stood arm-in-arm.

The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five games in week three and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games on the road while the Lions are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games at home but winless against the spread in their last four against a team with a winning record.

Photos and video posted to Twitter show Lavelle kneeling on the field after singing the anthem. The P.A. announcer did not ask fans to stand for the anthem.

"We are at our very best when we are working together, building unity and including everyone's voice in a constructive dialogue", Blank said. "Creating division or demonizing viewpoints that are different than our own accomplishes nothing positive and undermines our collective ability to achieve the ideals of our democracy".

Most of the Pittsburgh Steelers remained in the locker room as the anthem was played at their game, and the Jacksonville Jaguars were joined by their owner, Shad Khan, on the field as they knelt and linked arms before their game.
