Kelly Bryant finds Ray-Ray McCloud for 79-yard TD pass

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney celebrates after the NCAA college football playoff championship game against Alabama Tuesday Jan. 10 2017 in Tampa Fla. Clemson won 35-31

But new signal caller Kelly Bryant has done the job so far, leading the Tigers to home wins over Kent State and, more impressively, Auburn. All of their points in a 14-6 win came in the last drive before halftime and in the first drive of the second half.

The Vols' running game is led by John Kelly, who has 37 carries for 208 yards and four touchdowns.

Last week, No. 2 Ohio State took on No. 5 Oklahoma in another "CFP preview"-type game". How you prepare and that's all that determines how you're going to play.

It also likely will need to use a little trickery, hoping to use an aggressive Clemson front's desire to pin its ears back and get to Jackson against it, perhaps working Reggie Bonnafon into some trick-play situations. And at the top of the list on Saturday's slate is a beauty of an ACC showdown between the defending champion Clemson Tigers and the Louisville Cardinals.

Co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott saw enough good things from his attack to believe his guys are moving in the right direction.

"It's kind of all 11 guys working together", Petrino said. This year's game figures to be just as close and competitive, as both teams have National Title aspirations.

Not much needs to be said about Clemson's 2016 season.

The Tigers have limited opponents to just over 118 yards per contest, including just 40 through the air.

Bryant isn't being overlooked now.

When Bryant returned, he led an 88-yard scoring drive that he ended with a three-yard TD run to take the lead for good. That doesn't sound like a unit that's ready to stop Sam Darnold, who is averaging 10.3 yards per attempt and completing 74.4% of his passes this season.

Scott said there were some miscommunications among the offense that stopped the Tigers from getting into an early rhythm. I expect a lot more wrinkles, twists, and surprises for the Clemson defense, which is really, really good. "Let's learn from it and how do we respond". Caught up in his feelings of excitement, the gunslinger took the Oklahoma flag, and planted it into the turf at midfield, upsetting the whole state of OH and becoming a hero in basically every other state.

Louisville, of course, has one of the more exciting players in all of college football in quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Zach Lentz is a Clemson University alumnus who got his start working with the Tigers basketball team from 1999-2004. Clemson struggled with the Cardinals a year ago.

Apart from Deshaun Watson's brilliance, Wayne Gallman's ability to contribute 110 yards through the ground was a key factor in Clemson's win last season. After managing just 138 yards with no touchdowns and four sacks the first two quarters, Jackson erupted for 319 yards with three touchdowns with just one sack.

Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said his players will have to overcome Clemson's dynamic defense to have success.

Q: Clemson's defensive line is one of the nation's best. However, when you flip that equation, a not-so-surprising result gets spat out, too.

That preparation is a testament to Venables, who keeps plugging in fresh high-end talent and churning out National Football League players by the time he's done with them. "It's a good package".

I'll take Louisville in what would be a mild upset. We just have to prove ourselves.

Where the Tigers went wrong after halftime was giving Jackson too many opportunities, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said.
