Kamal Haasan entering active politics? To meet Arvind Kejriwal for lunch

Actor Kamal Hassan could soon enter politics

Back to work after a 10-day Vipassana meditation session in Maharashtra, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will fly to Chennai to meet Kamal Haasan today at his residence in the state capital.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Kamal Haasan in Chennai on Thursday and the two will have "political discussions", a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said, amid indications the veteran actor may join politics soon. "This gives us hope that Kamal Haasan ji and Arvind will make a formidable force", said an AAP leader not wishing to be named. A telephone conversation set the ground for a meeting that is likely to take place today.

"It's too early to say what lies ahead", sources said.

The Delhi CM will also visit a Tamil Nadu government-run skill development centre in Chennai, he said. The state has witnessed a constant political crisis since the death of former chief minister, J Jayalalithaa.

Kamal Haasan had previously met Kejriwal on September 11, 2015, at the New Delhi secretariat and had discussed the issues related to promoting the film industry and making Delhi ideal for film shootings.

The timing of the meeting is significant; speculation is rife due to the suspense surrounding Kamal Haasan's plans to enter politics and the impact such a move would have on the political scenario in Tamil Nadu and beyond. From levying corruption charges on the government to congratulating the CPI (M)-led LDF government in Kerala for "good governance". On his arrival at Chennai airport, the matinee idol's daughter Akshara Haasan received him, according to ANI report. Kejriwal's party has already announced that it will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat on selected seats.
