'Journey' studio brings a dreamy fantasy game to iOS and Apple TV

Sky is thatgamecompany's next game, and it's Apple-exclusive

It looks in keeping with the studio's past work, with lush environments to explore and comparatively minimalist game elements.

At the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X launch event, Sky, a new game from lauded indie studio, thatgamecompany was revealed.

Sky will be available for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, with the latter supporting 4K resolution and Siri controller support.

If it's anything like TGC's past efforts, expect plenty of subtext and symbolism hidden beneath lush environments and high-flying characters. "It's hard to explain the game, but a good place would be to say that Sky is a game specially created to be played, and shared, among loved ones and family", thatgamecompany's post read. This, according to Chen, makes Sky incredibly approachable to everyone. Players will fly through the clouds in order to collect light from around the world, controlling a mysterious cloaked figure.

The next game from the creators of Journey. Which brings our games, for the first time, to mobile - a platform that many have access to, the world over. Sky is headed to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV soon.

Sky will arrive this winter on Apple's devices.

Thatgamecompany's last game was Journey, which is considered to be a masterpiece by many.
