Donald Trump warns North Korea of 'overwhelming' options

The meeting will be held during the annual General Assembly gathering of world leaders at the United Nations where Trump will meet with the leaders of Japan and South Korea on the sidelines to address the crisis.

Trump has said the USA and its allies will not be intimidated by the reclusive nation.

"For those who have said and have been commenting about the lack of a military option, there is a military option", he insisted.

North Korea yesterday fired an intermediate range ballistic missile over Japan and into the Pacific Ocean.

The worldwide community is scrambling to contain an increasingly belligerent North Korea, which in recent weeks has prompted global alarm by conducting its sixth and largest nuclear test and firing long-range missiles over Japan that it says could reach the USA mainland.

A top US national security official says President Donald Trump will work to build business ties between the USA and other nations during the United Nations General Assembly next week.

"Eventually, if its opponents start backing the country into a corner, North Korea may begin selling missile technology". North Korea is closer than ever to its goal of building a military arsenal that can viably target both USA troops in Asia and the American homeland.

The Security Council also reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in north-east Asia at large, and expressed its commitment to a peaceful, diplomatic and political solution to the situation, welcoming efforts by Council members, as well as other States, to facilitate a peaceful and comprehensive solution through dialogue.

Meanwhile, Russian political analyst Andrei Manoylo told Radio Sputnik that North Korea would be able to weather these new sanctions easily.

Trump said America and its allies will never be intimidated.

Global equities investors largely shrugged off the latest missile test by North Korea as shares on Wall Street set new highs on Friday. And right now, I don't have any more forensics on it.

Russia's U.N. ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, said the United States needed to begin talks with North Korea, something that Washington has so far ruled out. We need a different approach: North Korea should be presented with opportunities for cooperation; the country should be drawn into various organizations to become bound by a mesh of worldwide obligations.
