Native Texan Jamie Foxx and Houston rap legend Bun B are planning an vast telethon to raise funds for the Hurricane Harvey relief effort.

Foxx, from Terrell, Texas, added: "I just want to let everyone in Texas know that we've got you".

The Baby Driver star announced on Wednesday that he'll host a telethon in September to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, which is likely to become the costliest storm in USA history. From a fellow Texan, my heart goes out, my prayers go out.

TMZ reported that Foxx, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Shelton, Hilary Duff and Michael Strahan are all involved with the project, with commitments from the four major broadcast networks to air the special for an hour on September 12.

According to TMZ, the show is being organized by the same folks who organized the Ariana Grande One Love Manchester fundraising concert, and it will be hosted in three cities simultaneously - New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

The telethon will take place on September 12, 2017, from 8-9 p.m. and will air on CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox networks. Per TMZ, the hosts will include Foxx, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Shelton, Michael Strahan, and possibly Hilary Duff. Austin homeowner Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million, while the Kardashians pledged $500,000 to the Red Cross and Salvation Army. Miley Cyrus announced on Ellen yesterday that she's donating $500K via her Happy Hippie Foundation.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, a number of celebrities have come forward to help the victims, donating money and even assisting in person.
