Deshaun Watson throws his 1st career TD to Nuk Hopkins

Houston Texans tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz catches a pass but was injured on the play in the third quarter of an NFL football game at NRG Stadium Sunday Sept. 10 2017 in Houston

So when Houston made a decision to play Deshaun Watson rather than Tom Savage at quarterback in the second half, the rookie was entering a tough position.

Watson threw a 4-yard touchdown to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on his first drive to cap a 14-play, 75-yard scoring march.

O'Brien gave Tom Savage the start in Week 1, as he told everyone all offseason he would. Although the Jaguars typically find themselves at the bottom of the AFC South division, the Texans were trailing their rivals by the score of 19-0 at halftime.

Watson went 5 for 8 for 37 yards including the four-yard touchdown and also has a nine yard run on his first drive for the Texans.

The Texans traded up 13 spots to select Watson with the No. 12 overall selection.

Watson played well in preseason, but ultimately, the Texans chose Savage for his experience.

Watson entered the game and completed his first 3 passes for 26 yards and had the Texans moving. The switch might be flipped already, because it's hard to believe the Texans will want to turn back to Savage next week.
