The entire nation has immersed in joy and celebrations on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 67th birthday.

The BJP is observing the day as "Seva Diwas" across the country.

Modi was born to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana district on September 17, 1950.

Recounting his term as the home minister for over seven years under Prime Minister Modi's office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shah said, "I witnessed first-hand his grip on administration and how he transformed Gujarat into a model state of development and good governance".

Joining the league were a lot of celebrities who greeted Modi with heartfelt tweets on his birthday.

"Best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modiji on his birthday".

Smriti Irani, the Union Textiles, Information &Broadcasting Minister, also wished the PM on twitter and said that PM is an "inspiration to millions".

Mohanlal also tweeted, "Happy Birthday Wishes to our Honorable Prime Minister @PMOIndia Sri".

Lavishing praise on Modi on his 67th birthday, Shah said the PM's life in many ways was a "personification of the spirit of India" and claimed his sensitivity towards the aspirations of the poor had led to "historic poverty alleviation initiatives taking shape at a scale unheard of in the history" of India.

Humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar took his opportunity to wish PM Modi. While serving the people, you remain my biggest inspiration, PM Shri @narendramodi ji.

Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar greeted PM Modi and called him a "dynamic, Hard working & visionary". He will dedicate the Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation.

PM Modi would then visit Amreli in Saurashtra where he will attend a host of programmes and address a public gathering.
