Arsenal are waiting to discover the full extent of the latest injury setback suffered by Danny Welbeck.

The England worldwide failed to finish the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, limping off midway through the second half following a coming together with David Luiz.

When quizzed about the duo, Wenger said: "Danny has a scan today, we don't know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the global break".

Following the draw, Wenger said he didn't know how long Welbeck could be sidelined for.

Apart from missing the upcoming Arsenal games in the Carabao Cup, Premier League and Europa League, the former Manchester United forward is also expected to be ruled out for England's upcoming World Cup qualifying clashes against Slovenia and Lithuania on the 5 & 8 October respectively.

When fully fit and firing he is among the most unsafe forwards in the Premier League, but he hasn't managed more than 20 games in a season since his debut Gunners campaign.

In his first game back, he scored the victor against eventual Premier League champions Leicester City just minutes after coming on.

Welbeck has been hampered by several injuries since joining the club from Manchester United in 2014 with the forward missing eight months past year with a serious knee injury so this latest set-back will be a huge blow.

Arsenal are expected to be without the England worldwide for their mid-week League Cup tie at home to Doncaster.
