Ander Herrera produces important cameo for Manchester United against Southampton

Thierry Henry scores for Arsenal during the Barclays Premiership match between Norwich City and Arsenal at Carrow Road

Last week in the Premier League saw Manchester City go on the rampage (again), Man United swat Everton aside, and Chelsea and Arsenal play out a 0-0 stalemate at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says that he is happy to have claimed a comprehensive win over a tough opponent in Stoke City.

Alvaro Morata scored his first Chelsea hat-trick as the champions began life without Diego Costa with a 4-0 win at Stoke.

The Citizens had no mercy on bottom-dwelling Crystal Palace in a 5-0 victory, taking the lead with a goal by Leroy Sane a minute before halftime and then getting four more scores over the final 45 minutes on Saturday, reports Efe news agency.

"The Premier League is generally won - certainly over the last ten, 15 years - by the team with the best defensive record".

Will Guardiola's side win the league?

The Premier League's top three all won on Saturday to extend their impressive starts to the season.

Chelsea, the league's defending champions, are alone in third place in the table, three points behind joint-leaders Manchester United and Manchester City.

United have made their best start to a season since 2011-12, and Lukaku is only the second player (after Louis Saha) to have scored six goals in his first six games for the club in the Premier League era.

Jordan Henderson restored the Reds' two-goal advantage but Jamie Vardy got Leicester back into contention just a minute later.

Romelu Lukaku has added a cutting edge to Manchester United's attack.

Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate pulled two goals back in the closing stages, but Spurs managed to hold on for the win. The Mexican scored his 40th Premier League goal in the London Stadium showdown when he headed home in the second half.

Everton moved out of the drop zone with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth, thanks to a pair of late goals from substitute Oumar Niasse.

Swansea have now lost all three home league games so far this season and Watford won all three away after Richarlison's late victor earned the Hornets a 2-1 victory at the Liberty Stadium.
