3 killed, 30 injured in grenade attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir

Terrorists hurled a grenade at a busy bus stand in Tral in Pulwama district on Thursday, killing three civilians.

Summary: In a fresh indecent, over three civilians have been killed while more than 20 seriously injured after a terror attack had taken place.

The terror attack comes almost a week after security forces gunned down Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abu Ismail, the mastermind behind the July 10 attack on Amarnath yatra pilgrims.

"Three civilians were brought dead and 30 others were provided treatment at the hospital", medical superintendent at Tral hospital told local media. Seven personnel of 180 Bn CRPF have also been injured, reports said. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah took to Twitter to condemn the attack. "It is said first a grenade was hurled and then few shots were fired".

Further details on the attack are awaited.

Kashmir, the Himalayan region divided between India and Pakistan, is claimed by both in full. They have fought two wars over its control since they won independence from Britain in 1947.
