Zidane Open to New Real Madrid Arrivals Before Transfer Window Closes

Real Madrid open the 2017-18 La Liga season with an away trip to Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday as manager Pepe Mel's side have the unenviable responsibility of facing the defending champions in their curtain raiser.

Marca have an article in their Sunday edition flexing the muscles of Real Madrid.

A number of increasingly impressive displays have been backed up by a sensational pre-season for Kovacic, with the classy midfielder having started and starred in Real's "friendly" victory over fierce rivals Barcelona in Miami, as well as both of their Super Cup wins over the Blaugrana.

Helping to assuage fears that Real will struggle without the Portuguese has been young winger Marco Asensio.

"Certainly, I have a fantastic team and we can still improve, I have some very young players and you can always learn more".

"As I always say, for us it's hard work that will allow us to achieve things", he said.

Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for further signings this summer before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

On 21-year-old Asensio, Zidane added: 'He is doing phenomenally well every time he comes in'.

"We appealed and we will appeal again".

"He is training regularly and that is important for him, " he said.

The Frenchman utilised his squad to great effect last season as Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League, often using a second string side for more winnable league fixtures. He is physically fit and has no discomfort.

"I never complain and I'm not going to start now".

Boss Pepe Mel revealed that club president Tino Fernandez is pushing hard to bring Perez back to the Riazor, where he enjoyed two fruitful campaigns before joining the Gunners previous year.

"I don't know if [this squad] is the best in the world, it isn't for me to say that".
