Yamaha Fazer 25 launched in India, priced at Rs 1.28 lakh

The Yamaha Fazer 25 has an Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certified fuel efficiency (milage) of 43 km per litre. Priced at INR 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), this new fully faired version is based on Yamaha FZ 25.

This is the second bike from the company this year, after the roll out of FZ 25 in January, and will hit the road next month.

He also said that Yamaha is expected to add another 100 outlets in its dealership network this year, which will take the total number of outlets to 700 pan-India. There are numerous additions in the new Yamaha Fazer 250 which include LED daytime positioning lights. The motor is tuned to produce 20.6 bhp at 8000 rpm and churns out a peak torque of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm.

Yamaha has commenced bookings for the new Fazer 25, which is offered in two colour options: cyan and red. Now it is coming up with the Yamaha Fazer 250.

Reflecting the Fazer 25's long riding range, the company claims that its 14-litre fuel tank can offer up to 600km of uninterrupted riding.

As of power, the vehicle has the newly designed air-cooled, 4-stroke 249 cc engine with SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder that can create a maximum power output of 20.9 PS at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque of 20 N m at 6,000 rpm, same as FZ25.

Also, it seems like tires, brakes, and suspensions are also as same as FZ25. The new offering from the Indian subsidiary of the Yamaha Motor company of Japan is essentially a fully-faired version of the FZ 25 and is positioned as new mid-class tourer.

The Fazer also falls in the touring segment of motorcycles, which is close to the cruiser segment where Royal Enfield has is the undisputed market leader.
