Wenger 'relieved' Giroud has chose to stay

After nearly 30 minutes being a goal down, the Gunners look destined for an opening day defeat but their so often hero, Aaron Ramsey, who came on a second half substitute, drilled the ball past the goalkeeper after showing some excellent control. 3-3, min. 83, Ramsey.

Trailing 2-3, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger substituted Giroud and Aaron Ramsey for Elneny and Rob Holding, respectively, while Leicester City's Craig Shakespeare pulled Okazaki in favour of defensive midfielder Daniel Amartey.

Jamie Vardy, who turned down a move to Arsenal last season, then put Leicester 2-1 up in the 29th minute.

Arsenal, meanwhile, will begin the season without Sanchez but new signing Alexandre Lacazette is set to make his Premier League debut.

Within 3 minutes Leicester were level.

Olivier Giroud scored his 99th goal for Arsenal to rescue three points on the opening day of the new Premier League season.

The first 15 minutes were very lively with both teams having equal chances on goal.

Did Mesut Ozil handball in the build-up to Arsenal's third goal?

"The quality of the performances and the continuity of the end last season were really strong, we look to have desire to play, hunger to play together and win but we have to maintain that and go from game to game with the same hunger". Arsenal and Everton are in the Europa League, so they have to play on Thursdays.

Arsenal were caught in possession on the left once again minutes later and Okazaki nearly doubled his tally but headed narrowly wide.

However, Danny Welbeck levelled up before the interval, but Vardy grabbed his second minutes after the break.

Arsenal responded positively but Schmeichel was up to the task, stopping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's long shot before getting across just in time to deny Hector Bellerin.

He had the presence of mind to spare for Welbeck, who tapped into an empty net as offside calls from Leicester defenders were correctly waved away.

Arsenal didn't learn from their mistakes and were behind again 10 minutes into the second half.

The second half brought more of the same though, with Vardy adding his second nine minutes after the interval, rising highest and glancing Riyad Mahrez's corner past Petr Cech. Either ways, the game promises to be an entertaining one.
