Graham Time for new approach on N. Korea

After adding that he should have been in office eight years ago, Trump said, "I have to say, Eddie, you're going to become extremely famous". He told the governor that when it came to Guam, "we are with you 1000%".

"And your tourism, I can say this, your tourism is going to go up like tenfold with the expenditure of no money, so I congratulate you", Trump can be heard saying over the phone. "All over the world they're talking about Guam and they're talking about you", the clip, about 45 seconds long, showed the President as saying. On Friday, the president had issued fresh threats of swift and forceful retaliation against nuclear North Korea, declaring the USA military "locked and loaded" and warning that the communist country's leader "will regret it fast" if he takes any action against US territories or allies.

In the phone call Mr Trump goes on to praise the island's beauty, which he says he has seen in news reports about the missile threat. It looks attractive, you know I'm's such a big story in the news.

Mr Calvo agrees: "It's paradise".

UNDATED (AP) - Officials in Guam are disseminating fact sheets to help residents prepare for a possible missile strike from North Korea.

U.S. President Donald Trump told the Guam governor that "You are safe". "I'm so thankful and I'm glad you're holding the helm sir".

"Lie flat on the ground and cover your head".

"We are the best in the world by a factor of five", he says.

President Trump also stated he is neither weak nor ineffective and will follow through on his threat of a powerful response if North Korea does launch a missile attack.

If correct, and if the USA allows the missiles to launch in the first place, that leaves 17 minutes for tracking stations on land and sea - including the Pine Gap facility near Alice Springs - to calculate, target and try to destroy the missiles.
