Two Kissimmee police officers shot to death

Two police officers have been shot and killed in Kissimmee authorities say. The shooting happened in the area of Palmway and Cypress around 9:30 p.m. on Friday Aug. 18 2017

Prayers are pouring in for police departments across the country after a violent Friday night saw six police officers shot in shootings in Pennsylvania and Florida.

The two officers with the Kissimmee Police Department were shot to death in the area of Palmway and Cypress streets.

Two suspects in the shooting were arrested but a third one might be on the run, a police source told WFTV.

The identity of the officers have not been released other than they are both men.

The Florida Highway Patrol said there was "heavy police activity" in the area and told people to avoid the area.

"Our law enforcement officers are true heroes and we will miss these courageous Floridians", Scott posted on Twitter.

The Kissimmee Police Department confirmed the information via Twitter.

No further details about the Florida shooting incidents were yet released.

The conditions of the officers are unknown at this time.

Meanwhile, two officers also were reported shot in Jacksonville, Fla., News4Jax.com reported.
