THQ Nordic New Open-World Action RPG Leaked

The game, suspected to be revealed at this week's Gamescom, was leaked this weekend thanks to an ad in the German gaming magazine GamesMarkt.

BioMutant is set in an "imaginative post-apocalyptic universe" that can be explored via "mechs, paragliders, balloons, mounts, jet skis and more", according to THQ Nordic. And if that wasn't exciting enough, there will be a collector's edition available upon release as well, offering more than a couple bonuses.

The website also lists the game's release date as December 2018, but Amazon typically uses December for products without an official release date.

Biomutant is being developed by Swedish studio Experiment 101, co-founded in 2015 by Just Cause 2 art director Stefan Ljungqvist, and is expected to be out sometime next year. While the main character appears to be a ragged, raccoon-like creature in the game's artwork, players will be able to genetically modify their character with claws, barbed tails and wings. And that's not all.

The new game titled BioMutant is said to sport real-time combat that mixes melee, guns and special abilities.

Melee fighting won't be your only means of defense, however, as the titular bio-contamination plaguing BioMutant's world will allow you to shapeshift into different deadly forms, unlocking new physical abilities and psychic powers like telekinesis and levitation. Now that all of the aforesaid is under THQ Nordic's portfolio, the five founders of Black Forest Games will stay and are currently working on an unannounced project for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and PC.
