The Flash Casts Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff as DC Villain

The Flash Katee Sackhoff Amunet Black Blacksmith

Having already generously broadened the series' scope by adding characters such as the Thinker, Elongated Man and Hazard to the highly anticipated fourth season, the producers of The Flash aren't wasting any time when it comes to further mining the DC pantheon.

The Arrowverse just got a little bit more unsafe, with the announcement that Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of The Flash in a recurring capacity as DC villain Blacksmith.

Sackhoff will first appear in Season 4, episode 5, titled "Girls Night Out", which will also feature an appearance by "Arrow's" Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Amunet uses every means possible, including a long list of metahumans under her control, to make sure that her forbidden venture flourishes. Before taking the elixir, Amunet changed its formulation, giving her the ability to merge metal with flesh as well as shape it to her will. There's no word yet on how many episodes Sackhoff will appear on, although her position as a crime boss definitely leaves the door open for her to stop by for more than one outing. Meaning, she's going to cause a lot of trouble for Barry (Grant Gustin).

According to EW, Sackhoff is joining the cast of the show as the DC metahuman villain Blacksmith.

The Flash returns October 10 on The CW.

Sackhoff also stars in the crime drama Longmire as Victoria "Vic" Moratti (2012-2017).

Fans may remember Katee Sackhoff as Starbuck in the remake of the cult classic Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009), which re-aired on BBC America.
