SNL Portrays Eric Trump With Intellectual Disabilities

Taylor Swift Testifies in Groping Assault Case

The half-hour "Weekend Update: Summer Edition" will air live at 9 p.m. for the next four Thursdays on NBC.

"All I did was sell my company, miss the birth of my child and ruin my entire reputation, all to be king of Idiot Mountain for 11 days", he said. Anything is possible, including an appearance by The Mooch himself. "I'm like human cocaine".

Kenan Thompson dropped in as boastful National Basketball Association parent LaVar Ball and put a new spin on the word "rhinoceros".

The show saved its sharpest digs for President Donald Trump and his older sons.

After spending the first segment focused on the continuing turmoil in Washington, Jost and Che turned their attention to less terrifying news stories including The Emoji Movie and LL Cool J. All in all, it was pretty standard fare from the anchors who didn't really knock anything out of the park. And Michael Che mocked Trump for folding his arms, saying he looked like "a Jeff Dunham puppet".

"You can't threaten someone when you're sitting down", Jost added.

Jost also poked the president for making his controversial "fire and fury" comment regarding North Korea while seated, quipping, "Even FDR stood up when he was talking tough".

Eric Trump (Alex Moffatt) and Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day) joined the news anchors to summarize the last few months. Don Jr. wanted to promote the surging economy and his dad's accomplishments. "No one cares about my meeting with the Russians anymore". He's quickly shut up with a fidget spinner that he doesn't quite know how to use, while Don Jr. uses a To Catch a Predator reference to justify his actions.

WU Summer Edition didn't deviate from the classic Update format at all with jokes from Jost and Che interspersed with visitors to the Update desk.

A rhythm they hope translates to prime-time laughter.
