RCom offers 'unlimited data' and calls at Rs 299

Trai’s comment comes in the backdrop of its ongoing tussle with Apple that is reportedly not allowing convergence of the telecom regulator’s do-not-disturb app on its iOS platform

The company announced the all-new rental plan in a tweet on Wednesday.

Reliance Communications has rolled out a Rs 299 monthly rental plan for prepaid users, and the company says this is the "lowest rates ever".

The announcement clearly invites Reliance Mobile users to buy the plan by clicking on the link provided in the tweet. RCom users can visit Eshop.com in order to avail the offer. Anil Ambani's RCom has been struggling to cope up with the growing competition from other telecom operators in the market. In September, with its 4G services similar to what Reliance Jio did, JioFiber has expected to create the same effect in the broadband industry.

RCom's newest rental plan has been introduced to challenge the legendary companies like Airtel, Vodafone, and Jio. Reliance Communications have reported tumbled share and bonds in May this year, and Anil Ambani has indirectly blamed Mukesh Ambani-led firm Reliance Jio for offering "freebies".

Also, RCom announced Wi-Pod dongle at a cost of Rs.3,200 which offers 365 days of validity. Vodafone's First Recharge Coupon (FRC) plan at Rs 244 offers 70 GB data for customers at 1GB data per day, unlimited local and STD calls within Vodafone network. Under the deal, users would also get a 4G SIM card with 1GB data per day limit at Rs. 500 per month rental. The scheme seems to be identical to the offer of Reliance for its recently released Jio Feature Phones. The Rs 349 plan offer Jio Prime members 20GB unlimited data at 128kbps with no cap on data consumption for 56 days while the Rs 399 plan offers 84GB data (1GB per day at 128kbps) for 84 days. RCom, earlier this year, received 99.99 percent shareholders' approval for merger of its wireless business with Aircel. Currently, Reliance Jio's Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer priced at Rs. 399 is the latest offering from the operator, and it offers bundled data, free calls, and messages. However, we can expect other new monthly plans also.
