PJ Fleck surprises Minnesota kicker with scholarship shot from T-shirt cannon

Children's hospital patient uses a T-shirt cannon to surprise Minnesota kicker with scholarship

The coach told the team Kyle had been eyeing up Minnesota's new T-shirt cannon and he was going to have Kyle test it out in the room by launching a shirt at Juenemann.

Minnesota Gopher Football specialist Justin Juenemann, from Phillipsburg, learned of his scholarship in an unconventional way with the help of Coach P.J.

"That moment in itself was very special", he added.

Congratulations to Juenemann on his scholarship, and to any head coach who's planning on awarding a scholarship to a walk-on: the bar has been set. "And Justin fit the bill for all four". "He could easily not do it, and nobody would say anything".

As the Gophers players' shirts show, Fleck has brought his iconic "Row The Boat" mantra from his old job at Western Michigan to Minnesota. "Someone like [Justin] has every reason to stay on the sidelines, but he doesn't".

"I've never seen anybody serve and give more than that guy; who is not a star player, who hasn't played".

The original video of the surprise now has close to 400,000 views on Facebook.

"It's something I will never forget with the memory and having that video to watch too", the fifth year senior said. He caught it but took a moment to realize what the t-shirt said.

"It was awesome, I didn't really know how to respond, but I was excited", Juenemann said of Decker's tweet.

Juenemann hasn't seen any game action in his four years with the program.
