A 2012 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre was found dead at a railway yard in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, police said on Friday. His disfigured body was discovered on rail track around 1 km away from railway station along with a suicide note which helped in his identification. The police officer also revealed that GRP recovered a suicide note, a purse and an identity card of the deceased from the spot. My suicide note is kept in a bag in the room number 742 of Leela Palace Hotel. "His mobile phone was recovered from the 10th floor of the mall, from where he had apparently planned to jump", a senior police officer said. The investigation team also found a suicide note from him. Further legal action would follow.

According to the police, Pandey sent a WhatsApp message to a few near and dear ones informing them that he was going to take this extreme step and that his suicide note will be found in a hotel in New Delhi.

Pandey was promoted as Buxar DM on July 31.

A senior Delhi Police official said that police received information from his friends that Pandey would commit suicide and had gone to a west Delhi mall. Pandey, who secured the 14th rank, is the son of Dr Sudeshwar Pandey and homemaker Geeta Pandey, who are residents of Ananda Nagar in New Guwahati. "There was no discord, everything was fine between him and his wife", he added, referring to the suicide note.

"In one footage, Pandey is seen coming out of the Westin Mall at around 5:55 PM". Earlier, he had worked in the SDM and Katihar DDC post in Ballia subdivision of Begusarai, but what happened within a week was that IAS Mukesh had to commit suicide or there was any other reason for Mukesh's suicide. Then we checked more CCTV footages and found him moving towards the metro station. "Later, his body was found on tracks in Ghaziabad", the DM said.
