Oakland Raiders Running Back Marshawn Lynch Sits During National Anthem In Arizona

"I said, 'So you understand how I feel". As PFT's Michael David Smith notes, Lynch at the very least stood for the Anthem before a game they found in 2011, and didn't mention that he'd sat for the Anthem a year ago when he came out publicly in support of Colin Kaepernick's protests.

Marshawn Lynch sits during the National Anthem before tonight's Raiders/Cardinals pre-season game.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick remains a free agent after notably sitting during the national anthem last season.

Lynch, the ex-Seattle running back who came out of retirement this year to sign with his hometown Raiders, sat on an orange cooler with his arms resting on his knees, while others around him stood. The coach said he spoke to Lynch and was told this is nothing new for the running back. "You do your thing and we'll do ours.' So that's a non-issue for me", Del Rio said, according to ESPN.

True to form, Beast Mode left the locker room before media was allowed in.

Quarterback E.J. Manuel said he didn't know Lynch hadn't stood for the anthem. Stanton completed the seven-play drive by hustling out of the pocket to his right and scrambling toward the sideline until he spotted tight end Troy Niklas, whom he hit for a 7-yard touchdown with 7:19 remaining in the first half.

Lynch has yet to see live National Football League game action since the 2015 season and was just one of a litany of projected Raiders starters who were held out of Saturday's 20-10 Week 1 preseason loss.

Del Rio told reporters he did not believe Lynch sitting would be a distraction.
